IDEAS FOR GIVING
By donating to the Grace Dart Foundation, you are demonstrating that you care about the elderly.
Our Foundation brings love and care to the elderly who, unfortunately, are often abandoned and painfully lonely.
Your commitment touches hearts and brings light and joy at a time in life when it is particularly difficult to be alone.
All it takes is a single donation right now.
All donations are welcome. Each one makes a difference.
You have our sincerest thanks in advance. Your gesture will bring beautiful smiles and warm many hearts, guaranteed!
In Memoriam Donation
If a family member, friend or colleague has passed away, you can make a donation in their memory. We will inform their family of your kind and loving gesture. Memorial donation cards are available by calling the Foundation office. You can also make a memorial donation online by clicking the Donate button below.
A monthly donation is an effective way to engage in long-term generosity and commitment over any period you want. Some people also find monthly donations easier to fit into their budget. In early January, you will receive a statement for donations made each month over the previous year.
In Honour Donation
You can make a donation in honour of someone special, such as an employee or a volunteer. Honour donations are also a way to pay tribute to a loved one or to mark a milestone—a birthday, anniversary, retirement or any other special occasion. We will inform the person of your kind and loving gesture. If you would like to celebrate an event with an honour donation, please contact the Foundation office. We will be happy to help.

Increase your donation with the help of your employer!
Some companies offer gift matching programs that increase the value of employee donations to charities, at no additional cost to the employee.
Check with your human resources department to find out whether your company offers such a program and whether the program includes the Grace Dart Foundation.
Gift matching allows you to increase the impact of your donation and showcase your company’s community involvement.
Stocks and Securities Donation
Giving stocks and securities is a smart way to donate. You can reduce your taxes and increase the value of your gift. You can donate stocks, bonds and other securities without paying capital gains tax. You will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. To qualify for the tax credit, the securities must be transferred directly to the Grace Dart Foundation.
For more information, please contact Nathalie Morissette at 514 255-2834, ext. 3350.
Bequests are donations that are made to the Grace Dart Foundation as part of a will. You can bequeath a specific amount, a specific asset or a percentage of your estate or its residual value.
Pension Plan Donation
You can also donate by designating the Grace Dart Foundation as the beneficiary of your registered pension plan.
Life Insurance Donation
You can designate the Grace Dart Foundation as the owner or beneficiary of your new or existing life insurance policy.
There are a variety of gifts (charitable annuities, charitable remainder trusts, etc.) that can be established through a financial advisor. These types of donations allow you to generate income and tax savings while also giving a sizable gift to the Grace Dart Foundation.
LOVE & CARE
IT’S EASY TO DO GOOD
As a volunteer, we see first-hand the work the Foundation does to support the activities and individual needs of the residents. Our first thought is to seek assistance from the Foundation and we have never been disappointed. In this time of tight budgets and constraints, the Foundation is a blessing. They also support the recreation department with the café corner, and the beautiful decorations are the courtesy of the Foundation.
I would like to thank you on behalf of the residents and myself for everything you do for us.
You cover everything that the government does not pay for, such as zoo therapy, music therapy and all the other activities that are appreciated by all the residents.
I joined the board of the Grace Dart Foundation because I wanted to help make a difference in the care of the frail and institutionalized elderly. As a psychologist, former head nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital and former nurse consultant at the Montclair Residence, I worked with aging patients who suffered from lack of support, whether it was family, financial, psychological, medical, or any combination thereof. The entire world is dealing with an aging population, which will affect not only how we age, but the economy as a whole. Investing in the health and happiness of the aging population makes both social and economic sense. Thankfully the Grace Dart Foundation has the well-being of the elderly at heart and works hard to provide a warm and personal environment to this important segment of our society.
Since August 2016, my husband has been a resident at the Grace Dart Extended Care Centre. I am at the centre seven days a week. I have observed that recreation has a very positive impact on residents. The days of activities, be it games, music or songs, we see the smiles, the eyes that light up. Residents are eager to participate; they learn new things, use iPads…. For some, these are real discoveries, for others, they are friendships that are forged…. Please give generously to the Grace Dart Foundation to continue this good work.
